The current model of using recycled materials in the Netherlands is similar to the recycling system of GREENMAX polystyrene densifier
The worldwide design company Gensler has partnered with The Good Plastic Co., a Netherlands-based manufacturer of recycled-content plastic products with a New York office in the United States, to develop a new range of Polygood construction products. A circular approach to product design is supported by Good Plastic's new Growth range of Polygood recycled-content polystyrene (PS) panels, which "reimagine traditional surface materials—marble, terrazzo, and beyond."
Remanufacturing using recycled materials, especially polystyrene, is no longer impossible. GREENMAX uses recycled expanded polystyrene to granulate, and then these expanded polystyrene, which were originally regarded as waste, become recyclable hard plastics. These hard plastics can be made into plastic frames for home decoration. In the process of helping to recycle, GREENMAX found that the process of recycling expanded polystyrene is more difficult because the volume of this waste is large and difficult to transport and store. Therefore, GREENMAXA is constantly designing and manufacturing high-quality recycling equipment to help compress expanded polystyrene. Among them, polystyrene densifier is a device with relatively high compression. The expanded polystyrene is put into the crushing bin of the polystyrene densifier, where it will be crushed, then heated and compressed, and finally extruded. After cooling, it will become a dense ingot, with the volume reduced to one-90th of the original.
"This new collection of Polygood patterns for horizontal application is a pleasure to work on with The Good Plastic Co." says Scott Star, head of product development at Gensler, a San Francisco-based company. "The patterns offer a welcome alternative for commercial countertops, vanities, and furniture, and the material's circular nature is well aligned with our sustainability objectives." "Composed of post-consumer and post-industrial plastic scrap and enhanced with accents from discarded refrigerators, washing machine enclosures, industrial spools, and consumer electronics," according to the business, is how Polygood goods are described.
The waste processed by GREENMAX polystyrene densifier comes from a wide range of sources, including fisheries, construction industry, production industry, manufacturing industry, medical industry and even agriculture. GREENMAX also insists on practicing the double closed loop of resource circulation and economic circulation. Actively using recycled materials for remanufacturing is the greatest protection of resources and a contribution to protecting the earth's environment.
