The annual World Earth Day is coming again, and various regions have begun to carry out recycling activities to strengthen the promotion of environmental protection theme activities. The Watertown Public Works Department will hold an Earth Day event on Saturday, April 19, 2025 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm in the Jewish Community Day School parking lot (57 Stanley Street). Only Watertown residents can attend. Paper shredding, a $25 mattress recycling program, a free dehumidifier drop-off, a clothing drive, a finished compost/soil gift, and a giveaway of seedling oak trees are all part of the event.

Watertown is recycling Styrofoam in collaboration with Save That Stuff. For this occasion, kindly gather and preserve whatever Styrofoam you may have. If you have a backlog of styrofoam, also known as expanded polystyrene, at home, you can donate the waste to a designated location.

Generally, community activities in cooperation with enterprises usually process the styrofoam waste collected from the activities. The cooperating factories are usually equipped with styrofoam recycling machines, the most common of which is the styrofoam compactor. This equipment uses cold pressing technology and is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. It is an environmentally friendly and efficient equipment.
