Polystyrene packaging and coolers generated in Franklin County will be recycled by polystyrene densifier

Next month, the towns of Leverett, Montague, Northfield, and Warwick will work with the Franklin County Solid Waste Management District to organize special recycling pickups for bulky Styrofoam packaging. Only residents of Leverett, Montague (all five villages), Northfield, and Warwick are eligible to attend the collections, which will be held every Saturday in April from 9 a.m. to noon.

If you want to participate in the event, you can pay attention to the following addresses in detail: the Northfield Transfer Station, 31 Caldwell Road, Northfield; and the Warwick Transfer Station, Garage Road, Warwick. These particular recycling collections will only accept white blocky packing material and coolers made of expanded polystyrene foam (EPS or PS No. 6), often known as Styrofoam. Volunteers at the collection sites will assess the materials that each resident provides and may refuse unsuitable items.

In fact, there are many expanded polystyrene packages and coolers in the daily life of residents. Are you unable to remember which ones for a moment? In fact, the frequency of use of these items is far beyond your imagination! For example, when buying fresh seafood, in order to ensure the freshness of the product, we usually package these fresh foods with expanded polystyrene coolers. Or you bought some items that need to be kept at low temperatures, or even some medicines, which all need to maintain precise temperatures. Expanded polystyrene has excellent performance in maintaining temperature. If we mention expanded polystyrene packaging, there are countless because, due to the continuous development of the transportation industry, the demand for the packaging industry has become higher, especially for expanded polystyrene, which is more impact-resistant packaging.

However, if there is a demand for use, there must be a demand for recycling after use. After the waste is collected, a polystyrene densifier is usually used for compression. One of the difficulties in recycling the waste is squeezing out the air. GREENMAX polystyrene densifier squeezes out the air in the waste by heating and melting. The compression ratio can reach 90:1. It is a relatively high compression ratio device among all the compression devices on the market. Polystyrene densifier is also the best-selling machine among all foam recycling machines.
