GREENMAX is fulfilling the same recycling mission as KleanNara in Korea by providing the EPS recycling system
On Tuesday, KleanNara Co., a renowned South Korean producer with a focus on paper goods, announced with pride a significant technological advancement. The company has achieved a remarkable 100% recycling rate for expanded polystyrene (EPS) through the successful engineering of a technology that produces micro pellets from EPS.
The innovative invention represents a big step in the materials industry's direction towards sustainability. KleanNara, which started producing EPS micro pellets in large quantities just a month ago, is poised to have a significant influence on the market for sustainable materials. These EPS micro pellets are made from recycled EPS and are tiny, bead-shaped particles that are less than 0.8mm in size. One noteworthy feature of their adaptability is their ability to be combined with virgin plastic to create new EPS products.
Recycling and reusing EPS by recycling EPS beads sounded like a fantasy a few years ago. In fact, since the year before last, GREENMAX, like KleanNara Co., has realized the use of a large-scale recycling system, EPS recycling system to recycle EPS beads. At the beginning, one of GREENMAX's partners asked GREENMAX whether it could provide general equipment to help recycle discarded EPS boards, that is, to recycle the EPS beads that make up EPS foam, and then reuse these beads. The EPS recycling system can realize this recycling wish.
First, waste EPS is put into the crushing device of the EPS recycling system. After a special crushing process, two types of EPS beads will be produced, one is beads that can be recycled, and the other is beads that cannot be recycled. After being screened by the dust collector, reusable beads will be separated from non-reusable beads, which is an important screening step. Finally, the reusable beads will be mixed with new materials and re-foamed into EPS, while the non-reusable beads will be compressed into EPS ingots through a hot melt process for granulation.
One of the key advantages of incorporating EPS beads into the production process is the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. According to KleanNara’s survey calculations, the use of EPS micro-pellets can significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions per kilogram of virgin plastic produced by 72% compared to traditional EPS production methods. Therefore, companies such as this company and GREENMAX that encourage the use of recycled materials and provide recycling equipment are happy to make efforts for environmental protection and resource conservation.
