Establish a Scientific Method is Key to Develop EPS Seafood Box Recycling in Florida

Seafood as delicious food is a favorite for many people. But I believe most people don't know the answer: how to keep the fresh taste of this seafood during the process from fishing to marketing? This secret is inseparable from one kind of material, that is EPS (Expand polystyrene). Thanks to the advantages of heat preservation and fall resistance, seafood packed with EPS boxes has remained delicious before marketing.

If people have watched the video of fish traders packing seafood, they will be shocked by the fish boxes piled up in warehouses like hills. So many fish boxes should be disposed of in the end? Found in 2016, the factory in Florida of BluGlacier gives an answer: disposing of the EPS boxes with the advanced recycling machine – EPS compactor.

In Florida, they are running a repack company, and generate a lot of boxes. In order to recycle it, BluGlacier has looked for many cooperative partners, and met GREENMAX Recycling in Boston Seafood Show, and learned the recycling solution how to recycle their waste EPS fish boxes. it’s a 100% total solution from the recycling equipment, to the end of material purchase-back. They purchased an EPS compactor and started this recycling project from their Florida factory after 1 year. Thanks to the high compression ratio of EPS compactor, there are at least 4 truckloads densified EPS monthly.

As is known to us, Florida previously issued a ban on EPS food containers, but even in this context, the local recycling industry is still booming. The Foam Recycling Coalition has awarded Collier County, Florida, with a $50,000 grant to launch a program to recycle EPS through the county’s drop-off collection sites. This grant will be an important support for Florida to introduce advanced technologies such as EPS compactor. There is no doubt that this will be the key to the recycling of local seafood boxes.
