Is recycling EPS only a task for the food industry in France?-All industries should use EPS compactor to actively carry out recycling

They are ten actors, gathered around the creation of a recycling sector for EPS and XPS: the Union of French Fishmongers, Eumeps, Elipso, Michelin, Célène, Polyvia, the National Network of Polystyrene Recyclers (RNRP), Valorplast, Twiice, and PlasticsEurope. To support this project, the signatories of Créa-Styr first highlight the benefits of EPS and XPS resins: extending the shelf life of food (meat, fish, cheese), transporting sensitive food products (fishing), or protecting fragile products.Another advantage of styrenic packaging: they are made up of 95% air, which reduces CO2 emissions associated with their transport.

The relevant industries not only realize that EPS foam is a very cost-effective material, but also realize the importance of recycling EPS foam, which is very rare. Only by correctly recognizing the relationship between the two and maintaining a balance between the two is the only way to maintain sustainable development. So, should we leave the burden of EPS recycling entirely to the food industry? This is incorrect. The EPS waste generated by the food industry is only a small part. If you want to achieve complete recycling, it requires the joint efforts of all walks of life, and even residents.

At present, 33% of EPS packaging in France (including household, industrial and commercial packaging) is recycled. Christian Théry, President of Elipso, said: "The recycling rate of EPS industrial and commercial packaging has reached 50%, and we firmly believe that there is still a lot of room for improvement." At present, France and other European regions have actively joined the camp of using recycling equipment to recycle EPS. The recycling method using an EPS compactor is very popular in Europe because EPS compactor is fully supported by cold pressing technology, which is more preferred in Europe. GREENMAX EPS compactor uses twin-screw extrusion to squeeze out 98% of the air and compress the volume to one-fiftieth of the original.

If you want to carry out high-quality EPS recycling projects, the first thing to do is to cover the whole industry, so as to ensure that EPS foam is fully recycled; otherwise, it is impossible to achieve effective recycling by relying on the efforts of one industry alone, which is just a small force. We need to mobilise the power of the public, with the use of high-quality EPS compactor, to achieve the perfect recycling business!
